3.1.11. Accelerator cable

Removal

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. To disconnect a wire from the "minus" plug of the storage battery.

2. To remove the air filter (see subsection 3.1.2).

3. To disconnect a cable from the lever of a drive of a butterfly valve of the carburetor.

4. To disconnect a cable cover from an arm on the carburetor.

5. To unscrew screws and to remove the shelf under the dashboard from the driver.

6. To disconnect a cable from an accelerator pedal.

7. To extend a cable with a cover from a motor compartment.

Establish a cable upside-down. At installation to track, that the cable was not overwound. Before installation of the air filter the cable needs to be adjusted.

Adjustment

Adjustment to carry out with the assistant. Completely to squeeze out an accelerator pedal. In this situation to check, whether there is a gap between the lever of a drive of a butterfly valve of the carburetor and the limiter of complete opening of a butterfly valve. The gap should be not less than 0,5 mm. Otherwise it is necessary to adjust length of a cable of an accelerator. Depending on fastening of a cable of the accelerator shown in drawing, make its adjustment. If the cover of a cable is fixed in an arm by two nuts, it is necessary to unscrew nuts, to move a cable, increasing or reducing a gap, and to tighten nuts. If on the end of a cover of a cable there is a carving plug which is screwed in an arm and законтрена by a spring washer, it is necessary to remove a washer, to adjust length of a cable, rolling or turning out the plug, and to establish a spring washer. At some carburetors it is necessary to unscrew a bolt of fastening of a cable of an accelerator on the lever of a drive of a butterfly valve, to turn the lever and to tighten a bolt.
