3.3.4. Beginning of forcing of the fuel pump of a high pressure

GENERAL INFORMATION

The beginning of forcing of the fuel pump can be checked and adjusted both on the engine removed from the car, and on the established. The belt of a drive of a cam-shaft should be tense.

Draft of the starting arrangement should not be extended.

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. To turn a cranked shaft so that VMT label on a flywheel coincided with inflow on a coupling case.
2. Thus the label on a cogwheel of the pump should coincide with a label on an arm.
3. To turn out a carving stopper 1 (see fig. Drafts of management of the fuel pump Bosch) in the center of a back cover of the pump and to screw on its place the indicator with the VAG 2066 extension piece. The indicator to roll till the moment while the arrow of the indicator will not start to move. To establish the indicator on a zero.
4. To screw the indicator that it showed a tightness of 2,5 mm.
5. To turn a cranked shaft in the direction opposite to rotation at operation of the engine (counter-clockwise) until the arrow of the indicator will not cease to move.
6. To screw the indicator to a tightness about 1 mm and to establish on a zero.
7. To turn a cranked shaft in the direction opposite to rotation at operation of the engine (counter-clockwise) until VMT labels on a flywheel and a coupling case will be combined. The indicator should show 0,83–0,97 mm for engines of fashions. JR, RA and SB and 0,93–1,07 mm for engines of fashions. JP and 1V.
8. If indications of the indicator do not keep within these limits, to adjust the forcing beginning. For this purpose to weaken an inhaling of bolts of fastening of the pump to forward 14 (see fig. Details of a drive of a camshaft) and to back 12 arms. To weaken the bottom bolt of fastening of the pump to an arm 14, to turn a cogwheel of the 15th pump so that the bolt appeared opposite to an opening in a cogwheel. To change a pump inclination in relation to the block of cylinders so that the indicator showed 0,90±0,02 mm for engines of fashions. JR, RA and SB and 1,00±0,02 mm for engines of fashions. JP and 1V.
9. To tighten bolts of fastening of the pump the moment of 25 N · m (2,5 kgfs · м).
10. To turn out the indicator and to wrap a carving stopper, having replaced previously a sealing ring of a stopper. A stopper to tighten the moment of 15 N · m (1,5 kgfs · м). In case of a leakage to tighten a stopper further. Limiting admissible moment of 25 N · m (2,5 kgfs · м).

CAV firm pump

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Completely to extend the handle of draft of the starting arrangement on the dashboard.
2. To screw the indicator of hour type in the VAG 3071 extension piece, and then to turn out it on a half-turn. It will prevent indicator jamming.
3. To turn a cranked shaft so that the label on a flywheel coincided with inflow on a coupling case.
4. To turn out a carving stopper sideways the pump and to screw instead of it the indicator with the extension piece, as is shown in drawing. To screw the indicator that it showed a tightness of 2 mm.
5. To turn a cranked shaft in the direction opposite to rotation at operation of the engine (counter-clockwise), on 20–30 mm.
6. To turn a cranked shaft in the direction opposite to rotation at operation of the engine (counter-clockwise) until the indicator will not show the smallest value.
7. To check coincidence of labels of VMT on a flywheel and a coupling case. Discrepancy of labels is allowed ±2 by mm.
8. If labels of VMT do not coincide, to adjust the forcing beginning. For this purpose to turn the crankshaft before combination of labels of VMT. To weaken an inhaling of bolts of fastening of the fuel pump to forward and back arms. To change a pump inclination in relation to the block of cylinders so that the indicator showed the smallest value.
9. To tighten bolts of fastening of the pump the moment of 25 N · m (2,5 kgfs · м).
10. To turn out the indicator and to wrap a carving stopper.
