The 2EE carburetor represents the carburetor 2Е2 with electronic control. The drive of an air zaslonka and a drive of a butterfly valve of the first chamber cope the electronic control unit with the microprocessor. The control unit is established in car salon about a ware box on the dashboard. The lambda probe, established in the additional exhaust silencer, measures the content of oxygen in the fulfilled gases and gives a signal in the control unit. The control unit on the basis of a signal from a lambda probe changes composition of gas mixture so that fulfilled gases optimum дожигались in converter.

The following operations carry out the same as on the carburetor 2Е2:

 – removal and carburetor installation;
 – adjustment of a priotkryvaniye of a butterfly valve of the second chamber (see subsection 3.1.12.5);
 – check of a heater of an inlet pipe (see subsection 3.1.12.5);
 – check of a thermoswitch of a heater of an inlet pipe (see subsection 3.1.12.5).

Check of frequency of rotation of idling

In the 2EE carburetor there is no screw of adjustment of quantity of a mix.

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. To warm up the engine, the temperature of oil should be not less than +60 ° Page.
2. To muffle the engine, to switch off everything consumers of energy (headlights, the fan, a radio tape recorder etc.).
3. To disconnect a hose of ventilation of a case.
4. To connect a control tachometer.
5. To start the engine and to leave to idle.
6. To check frequency of rotation of idling, it should equal 750 mines-1. If frequency of rotation of idling differs from specified, to define malfunction by system of diagnostics and to eliminate it.

Check and adjustment of the maintenance of an oxide of carbon in the fulfilled gases

The maintenance of an oxide of carbon (WITH) in the fulfilled gases check the special indicator of tension with VAG 1527 light-emitting diode. By character of light impulses of a light-emitting diode determine the contents WITH in the fulfilled gases. It is forbidden to use usual control lamps since electronic systems can be damaged.

Check carry out on the heated-up engine at oil 60 temperature ° With in the following order:

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. To connect a gas analyzer to a special branch pipe for measurement WITH on the additional exhaust silencer of the first step.
2. To disconnect a hose of ventilation of a case.
3. To connect the indicator of tension of VAG 1527 to the control socket 1 on a blue wire.
4. To start the engine and for 1 mines to finish frequency of rotation above 2000 mines-1 that a lambda probe got warm to working temperature.
5. The light-emitting diode on the indicator of tension 2 at frequency of rotation of idling should blink with frequency 1,5 times a second (2 times for 3 c). If the light-emitting diode burns constantly, the mix too rich if the light-emitting diode does not burn means, the mix poor means. If the light-emitting diode blinks with frequency of 25 times a second, the lambda probe means or did not get warm to working temperature either is faulty, or the wire to a lambda probe is damaged.

Prevention

The lambda probe can be hammered by a soot that can cause probe misoperation. To clear a probe, it is necessary to make a smooth trip on the highway during 20 mines after that to repeat check.


6. To check level WITH by means of a gas analyzer. It should make 0,6 %. If, despite the correct indications of a light-emitting diode of the indicator of tension, level WITH differs from specified, it needs to be adjusted. 7. To insert a new cap, to disconnect a gas analyzer and the tension indicator. To connect a wire to a lambda probe. To connect a hose of ventilation of a case.

The simplified check of work of Ecotronic system

At failure a lambda probe the Ecotronic system works according to the emergency program. For check of work on the emergency program it is necessary to disconnect a lambda probe and to track opening and closing of an air zaslonka. If the zaslonka functions, means works an emergency control.

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. To warm up the engine, the temperature of oil should be not lower 60 ° than Page.
2. To remove the air filter.
3. To disconnect from the carburetor a vacuum hose 24 (see fig. Air filter of engines in working volume of 1,1 and 1,3 l). To muffle a branch pipe on the carburetor.
4. To start the engine and to leave to idle.
5. To disconnect a wire a lambda probe 1 from a connecting block 2. Thus the air zaslonka should open on a corner about 60 °. If it does not occur, the emergency control means does not work or the drive of an air zaslonka, or a wire a lambda probe does not work closes on "weight".
6. If the air zaslonka opened correctly, to connect a green wire with a block 2 to "weight" approximately on 2 villages. The air zaslonka should be slightly opened slowly a little. If it did not occur, to check, whether conducting and if is not present is damaged, to replace the control unit with the microprocessor.
7. To increase frequency of rotation of the engine to 2000 mines-1 approximately on 1 mines that a lambda probe got warm to working temperature.
8. To connect a wire 1 lambda probe to a block 2.
9. At operation of the engine idling to remove a cap from a carburetor branch pipe. The air zaslonka should be covered slowly a little. If it does not occur, the lambda probe means is faulty and it is necessary to replace it. If a lambda probe it is hammered by a soot, it is necessary to make a trip on the highway during 20 mines and after that to repeat check.
10. To muffle the engine. To connect a hose 24 (see fig. The air filter of engines in working volume of 1,1 and 1,3 l) to a branch pipe of the carburetor and to establish the air filter.

Check of the sensor of temperature of cooling liquid

The sensor of temperature of cooling liquid is established in an inlet pipe of the engine or in a branch pipe of a shirt of cooling. The signal of the sensor arrives in the control unit. At failure of the sensor engine start-up worsens at low temperature of air.

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. To disconnect a wire from the temperature sensor.
2. To measure resistance of the sensor. At temperature +20 ° With it should make 2000–3000 Ohm.
3. To connect a wire to the sensor, to start and warm up the engine.
4. To muffle the engine and again to measure resistance of the sensor. At temperature +90 ° With it should make 200–300 Ohm. Otherwise it is necessary to replace the sensor.
5. It is possible to make sensor check, having removed it from the engine and having placed in a vessel with water. Gradually warming up water, to measure resistance of the sensor. Dependence of resistance on temperature of the sensor is shown in drawing.

Check of a drive of an air zaslonka

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. To warm up the engine, the temperature of oil should be not lower +60 ° than Page.
2. To muffle the engine.
3. To remove the air filter.
4. To check ease of closing and opening of an air zaslonka.
5. To start the engine and to leave to idle.
6. Several times quickly to turn the lever of a butterfly valve of the first chamber approximately on 1/3 courses between the provision of idling and complete opening, to return the lever to the provision of idling. The air zaslonka thus should turn quickly towards closing and come back to a starting position.
7. If the air zaslonka does not change the situation, to check resistance of a drive of an air zaslonka. For this purpose to disconnect a connecting block with wires from a drive 32 (see fig. 2EE carburetor details) air zaslonka. By an ohmmeter to measure resistance between contacts of a drive of an air zaslonka, it should be 0,9–1,7 Ohm. Then to check resistance between each contact and "weight" (short circuit on the case), the ohmmeter should show infinity.
8. To muffle the engine. To connect a block with wires to a drive of an air zaslonka. To establish the filter.

Check of a potentiometer of a butterfly valve

Potentiometer 3 (see fig. 2EE carburetor details) gives in the control unit a signal about the provision of a butterfly valve of the first chamber, and also about speed of opening and butterfly valve closing.

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. To disconnect a block with wires from a potentiometer 3.
2. To measure resistance of a potentiometer between extreme contacts And and With, it should be 1,4–1,6 kiloohms.
3. To start the engine and to leave to idle. A hose from a drive 37 to the air filter to disconnect from the filter and to close a stopper.
4. To muffle the engine. The butterfly valve should be completely closed.
5. To measure resistance between contacts And and In, it should equal 1,4–2,4 kiloohms. Smoothly completely to open a butterfly valve, resistance thus should decrease smoothly. At completely open butterfly valve resistance should be less than 270 Ohm.
6. To put on шанг the air filter. To connect a block with wires to a potentiometer.
