12.2.4. Check of elements of the generator

1. To check by means of an ohmmeter, whether there are no breaks in a winding of a stator and whether all rounds on "weight" become isolated.
2. For this purpose it is necessary to connect one plug of an ohmmeter to the stator case, and the second – serially to three conclusions of a winding.
3. Then serially to check resistance between three conclusions of a winding, thus indications of an ohmmeter should be 0,25–0,28 Ohm for the generator 35 A and 0,14–0,16 Ohm – for the generator 55 A.
4. To check resistance of a rotor (parameters see subsection 12.2.1).
5. To check diodes of the vypryamitelny block. The serviceable diode passes a current only in one direction. Faulty can not pass at all a current (chain break) or to pass a current in both directions (short circuit). Thus one plug of an ohmmeter to connect to the diode case, and the second – to diode contact.
6. To check contact rings on a rotor shaft. If they scorched or scratched, they have to be cleared and it is possible (if it is required) to pierce on the lathe.
7. To check a tension regulator. The tension regulator is not subject to repair.
