For exact check of the vacuum proof-reader the vacuum pump with a manometer is required. However to check, whether the vacuum proof-reader works, it is possible by means of a stroboscope:

| 1. To connect to the engine a stroboscope. |
| 2. To start the engine. |
| 3. To direct a stroboscope lamp on adjusting labels (see subsection 12.13.1.6 item 4). |
| 4. To increase frequency of rotation of the engine to 3000 mines-1. To remove a hose from the vacuum proof-reader 19 (see fig. The ignition distributor), thus the label on a pulley of the crankshaft or a flywheel of the engine should be displaced. To connect a hose in the vacuum proof-reader, the label должsна to return to a starting position. If the label does not move, the vacuum proof-reader means is faulty and it is necessary to replace it or the vacuum hose is not tight. |
