| 1. To disconnect a wire from the "minus" plug of the storage battery. |
| 2. To disconnect wires from the coil. |
| 3. To examine the coil. If on it there are cracks, the coil to replace. |
| 4. For check of resistance of primary winding to connect an ohmmeter to plugs 2 and 4. Resistance should be within 0,52–0,76 Ohm. |
| 5. For check of resistance of a secondary winding to connect an ohmmeter to plugs 3 and 2. Resistance should be within 2,5–3,5 kiloohms. |
| 6. If resistance differs from specified, the coil to replace. It is necessary to consider that defects of the coil are not always shown in a cold condition therefore if there is a suspicion that the coil is faulty, it is possible to replace for check it new. |
